      • Oliver: when will the locations be announced? Seems like GUADEC 2019 will be announced at GUADEC 2018 *we maybe want to decide a date
      • Ideally, GNOME Asia 2019 will be announced at GNOME Asia 2018
    • should we make both announcements at the same time?
      • Neil: it may be ok to put them together if we have to make the announcements close together
      • Oliver: there are different audiences, because of the geographical locations, so probably best to separate them
      • Neil: we need to understand the bidding process before we direct the community to go through the steps

Engagement Blog

  • We have used the Engagement blog as a way to promote fundraisers in the past. There are are some other interviews ready to be published. Oliver has taken a look at the interview answers and it looks good.
  • the contributor is really excited about having it published
  • Only a few people have access to the blog, we need to get more people added as authors
  • Last time, Alberto added the posts manually to Planet GNOME, we need to get this automated in the future

  • ACTION: @Nuritzi to publish this one: https://gitlab.gnome.org/Community/Engagement/General/issues/52. Also to get more people access to the blog.

  • ACTION: @Nuritzi to talk to Alberto about getting the blog on Planet GNOME in an automated way

  • Idea was to come up with small event types that could be hosted with a goal toward adding new contributors
  • We have funding to pay for food and drinks as some of these events

Social Media

  • Nice to see note about GUADEC posted on social media and the website
  • We have some news item coming up to plan social media posts around
    • Post about Taiwan as the place for GNOME.Asia Summit 2018
    • Post about Almeria as the place for GUADEC 2018
  • New distribution releases with latest GNOME coming up
    • New Fedora is coming out on May 1st
    • Ubuntu 18.04 LTS will be released on April 26, will contain GNOME 3.28 apps
  • Can we setup a new Board on Gitlab to plan social media posts?

* For now use the social-media tag on the General board

  • Would be nice to schedule blog posts in the same way
  • @Oliver wants to be more involved in social media posting, needs Tweetdeck access

Annual report Update

* Most sections have an author, we have already received 1 draft article (the Release Notes one) so it's ready to review * We still need someone to do the chart graphics and visual layout -- our previous designer doesn't have a lot of cycles

  • Can we ask the broader community to help with this? we should come up with a list of tasks

  • ACTION: @Michael to come up with a list of tasks for designers to do and also come up with the assets that they would need [TODO]
