Search Stock

The quick and dirty is that the search stock gives quick action based commands to reach any of the components available in the big board. The information from Applications, People, Files, and Calendar (default stocks) should all available to a default system search. Action based means that we should be developing a quick silver like action based system to speed up the access time of certain routines.

Specs

Width: Keep standard size, probably something like 300px

Height: Don't go over the top or bottom screen borders

Result Size: Limit number of results to ~7 per stock; that number will probably need some tweaking but will be a good starting point

Result Order: Stocks need to decide individually the order they return results

Search Results

As you can see from the mockup below we're searching both the title and description of the items in the big board, highlighting the matching term with bold. This mockup doesn't include icons for each item, a feature that is important and shown in the next one.

Next is another possible iteration of the search results. Placing the top matching mixed results by frequency of use at the top of the list in a "recent" category such that you would only tab once and arrive at the item you select most frequently from the list.
