=Make use of workspaces= In its current incarnation, the gnome-shell somewhat integrates workspaces, but without defining a function for workspaces. A user can ignore workspaces, she can create a workspaces for each application or a workspace for each task she is doing. The gnome-shell, however, makes no suggestion to what purpose a workspace should be created.

This proposal tries to tie the concept of workspaces into the mental working model of the gnome-shell by extending upon the 'Activities' model.
