Friends of GNOME planning

Friends of GNOME is our program to enable our community of developers, users and fans to support GNOME financially. In January 2009, we launched a monthly subscription program with an "adopt a hacker" campaign.

  • Get list of friends that have signed up for postcards (Rosanna)
  • Design t-shirts for Adopt a Hacker sponsors at their one year anniversary (First ones will be up in January.)
  • Act on feedback from Glynn
  • Act on feedback from Reinout
  • Post graphs on Friends of GNOME
  • Details and a ruler for Friends of GNOME goals (total dollar amount and number of subscribers)

Goals

  • Create a basis of financial support for the GNOME Foundation from the general public
  • $20,000 for 2009
  • When we announced the sys admin team, we said our goal was to hire a part time system administrator and in order to do so we were trying to raise $50,000 from Friends of GNOME. (Canonical said they'd match $10,000 of that.)
