Notes
Press Contacts
- Neil, Allan, Alberto, Matthias, Carlos, Sri, Nuritzi, Carlos, Michael
- Wiki page with people who can be interviewed, sort it by different functions/types of interviews
- Might be nice to send press an information packet and stickers. This might include a link to the page where we have a list of people they can interview.
- Need to make sure that if we do that it's not seen as bribing or something like that. We should also ask Sri about what he meant when he wanted to send gear
- Usually you just need to provide them enough information. Provide a press kit.
- Timeline: have this up by the next release
ACTION: Need to create some kind of press relations section on the wiki. Add pictures of the desktop, of the community having fun, of Neil. Logos. Photos of people who is on the interview list.
ACTION: Michael to add a page called wiki.gnome.org/press
ACTION: Ask foundation-list who would want to be on-call for interviews and what they would feel comfortable talking about.
ACTION: @Nuritzi to connect Neil to reporter
US Travel Box
- Nuritzi: a suitcase worked well for SCaLE because of mobility
Michael and Neil: A suitcase isn't really meant to hold computer equipment, instead get a Pelican case: http://www.pelicancases.com/
- Timeline: try to get the list of materials needed for the box === Defining the news and blog mediums ===
- We need to define
- Getting to know GNOME blog: editorials, interviews, etc.
- GNOME News: official news, events where we will participate,
ACTION: create guidelines for how people to write a blog post for GNOME news. Include instructions for how to send the articles. Might want to clean up this page: https://wiki.gnome.org/Engagement/News
ACTION: We need to get the Getting to Know GNOME blog on Planet GNOME
- Send to engagement-list with a certain tag?
- what do we do with the engagement-private list? should we change the membership of this list?
- engagement-private should remain for highly sensitive matters, also is a bit awkward
Should we create a new list? news@gnome.org? something like that
- whoever we want to give access to news accounts and social media accounts should be on this email list
- publish who is on the list on a wiki page
ACTION: @Nuritzi to ask the Board about engagement-private list
