Projects

Here are the projects that I want to help realize within GNOME:

  • Accessibility : Integarting in GNOME a set of solutions for traumatic brain injury patients, including people with locked-in syndrome

  • Dictionary : Integrating wikitionaries within gnome dictionary. According to EmmanueleBassi, going from scratch would be the best thing to do.

  • Engagement: helping make gnome contribution easier, more attractive, by improving the beginer documentation and includidng game design like "achivements" within the gnome infrastructure.
  • Factory mode, a GNOME Shell extension which let user switch its whole system between its "personal configuration" and "factory configuration" in one click. So if he happens to use a fancy keyboard (dvorak for example) with an inversed mouse, etc., in one click he turn its workstation in something usable for mere mortal colleagues.

  • feet: a fitness management solution integrated within GNOME

  • phebus: a computer-assisted poetry solution

  • quantic lab: a music composition solution to learn, write, generate and train

  • Translation : helping to translate in esperanto and french
  • wikimedia ecosystem integration within the gnome UX: that would for example include a login integration, search integration, using contents like wiktionary within the GNOME dictionary, etc.

Todo

  • Creating a description and a specification for each project above
  • Make a state of the art analyze for each project above
  • Read and familiarize with GNOME 3 design, and other gnome projects

  • Read about accessibility, evaluate what can be done for locked-in syndrom people with current gnome technology
