GNOME (and Related) Interests
Vala - "Vala is a new programming language that aims to bring modern programming language features to GNOME developers without imposing any additional runtime requirements and without using a different ABI compared to applications and libraries written in C."
Valadoc - Generates documentation for Vala bindings from .vapi definitions.
gEDA - "... the gEDA project offers a mature suite of free software applications for electronics design, including schematic capture, attribute management, bill of materials (BOM) generation, netlisting into over 20 netlist formats, analog and digital simulation, and printed circuit board (PCB) layout."
GStreamer - A very thoroughly design and solidly implemented stream processing library, based on GLib, for working with complex networks of audio/video/other types of media input, output and filter modules. Based heavily on GLib, and has bindings for Vala.
GUPnP - A new library with Vala bindings for writing UPnP-aware/capable applications. It currently provides a very easy to use set of application-level classes which implement the following UPnP specs:
Networking class
InternetGateway devices
Audio/Video class
MediaServer devices
MediaRenderer devices
Remote class
RemoteUIClient devices
RemoteUIServer devices
Other Interests
- Electronic music, which I am interested in both as a musician/composer and as a designer/engineer.
- I am an avid fan of unique, independent, foreign and classic cinema, and animation. My favorite film is Andrei Tarkovsky's 1976 Russian science-fiction masterpiece "Stalker".
