The gol of the GTP BoF at GUADEC 2013, just like in 2012, is to present current issues about the GNOME Translation Project.

This event is an opportunity to meet up and discuss common issues and best practices in GNOME localization. It will be held on the 6th Aug.

The below minutes describe what was discussed and who was interested in. Please use the gnome-i18n mailing list to coordinate efforts.

Clean up the doc licences

Background: Mallard help is licenced CC-BY-SA. Many translators copy the same po header text that says translation is under the same licence as the program. This is a problem, because program is usually GPL, and it's incompatible with CC.

Bullet points:

  • Reach out to translators to clean up the situation
  • Relicensing to the same license as user help is recommended: # This file is distributed under the same license as the user help.
  • We need a list of affected files to follow up
