Port GNOME Shell to use XI2

Description

Porting mutter to XI2 is the prerequisite for enabling multitouch and gesture support in gnome-shell. It is also needed for triggering the message tray by downwards pressure, as it was designed to do.

Status

There have been several attempts in the past to port mutter to XI2:

• Carlos Garnacho's XI2 port

• multi-touch gestures in gnome-shell

Jasper's work is happening on the wip/xinput2r git branch.

Multitouch support is happening on wip/multitouchr, and pointer barriers are in wip/barriers. These branches may be constantly rebased and forced pushed.
