Hi! I'm Sriram Ramkrishna - commonly known as sri. I'm an old timer whose been with the project for over 20 years. I started volunteering for GNOME about 6 months after Miguel De Icaza started the project. My first project was doing GNOME Summaries which I used to do every week. From there I moved on to starting a project called GNOME Journal. GNOME Journal did something similar and I grew the team from a 1 man project, to a two man project to finally a 6-7 member team. A lot of great stuff came out of GNOME Journal, a lot of the tools like gnome-doc-utils came out of that project. Showing that even if a project doesn't involve code, it can still influence the project generating requirements whose code benefitted the whole project.
I am currently an engagement team member but have a wide interest in many place in GNOME. I also do advocacy on the Internet on behalf of GNOME, and also do presentations at conferences. I'm also the backup administrator for the GNOME freenode channels. In addition, I put together a new conference called Libre Application Summit presented by GNOME (LAS GNOME) in order to build a application eco-system in Linux. We had our first successful conference in 2016 in Portland, OR. Looking forward to the next one in 2018.
I am currently unemployed and looking for my next adventure...
