Java Platform Tests

NOTES from Lynn Monsanto.

The tests in this section are to ensure that Orca speaks and brailles Java components correctly. The components to be tested are contained in the Swing toolkit, which implements the Java Accessibility API.

1. Role By Role

The J2SE 1.6 SwingSet2 application demonstrates almost all of the Swing toolkit components.

2. Swing Text

The J2SE 1.6 SwingSet2 application does not contain enough text to verify that Orca speak and brailles Swing text correctly. Use the jEdit Programmer's Text Editor for testing.

  • GOAL: Test Swing text.
  • PROCEDURE: Open the Orca ChangeLog text file with jEdit and do the following:

    1. Use the standard Java Look and Feel keystrokes to navigate through the document and verify that Orca speaks and brailles the text correctly.
    2. Use flat-review to navigate lines, words and characters within the document and verify that Orca speaks and brailles the text correctly.
  • EXPECTED RESULTS: Orca speaks and brailles Swing text correctly.
