This page shows default IMEs available in Windows 7. We try to document some important details.

Chinese (Simplified)

QuanPin

QuanPin means Full Pinyin literally. Full here means that initials and finals are typed explicitly. For example, by typing "zhong", we can find "中" in the candidate window.

ShuangPin

ShuangPin means Double Pinyin literally. Double here means that one letter for initials and one letter for finals. For example, by typing "vs", we can find "中" in the candidate window. There are different ShuangPin systems available, check the following page to get a feeling.
