Problem statement
Different kinds of completion:
Like the Firefox Awesomebar - doesn't auto-insert completion; you have to choose one.
Like Emacs - for pathnames and common words / symbols
Sub-patterns
Pay attention to Appropriate Response Time so the completion engine can keep up with people's typing. Typing should not appear sluggish even if completions are being computed.
