Meeting Minutes
GNOME Sysadmin Meeting Aug. 14th 2009
- John Carr to create Damned Lies git hooks in Sri's absence
- Alexandro has the Plone instance up and running
- Alexandro to follow up with Carsten on next steps
- No feedback from Lucas, so assuming that everything is currently working as intended
Misc. Requests / Updates
- Need a new gnome-doc-utils built on progress.gnome.org for Mallard documentation support
- Owen to schedule a Puppet tutorial
- Jack to look into a potential hackfest day / time at the Boston Summit
Bugzilla
- Big thank you to mkanat, owen and bkor for managing and helping mkanat with the Bugzilla upgrade
- Bugzilla will require a new SSL certificate
- Will need funding from the GNOME Foundation, approxmiately $500 to purchase a real certificate
- Need a Sysadmin volunteer to determine best option, such as a wild card certificate, as other GNOME services might benefit, such as Mango
- mkanat to monitor Bugzilla for any needed bug fixes for the next 30 days per his contract
- Logs need to be rotated on bugzilla-web
- Need to update the GNOME favicon
- Publish the bzr repository (Monitor upstream Bugzilla on which dvcs they will be using in the future, Mercurial or Bazaar)
GNOME Web Statistics
- Jeff to work on deploying piwik for the GNOME Marketing team to monitor website statistics
- Piwik is actively maintained and has a large community and is FOSS (Google Analytics is not FOSS)
- Similar to Google Analytics, it requires a Javascript component on each web page
- Piwik to be installed label.gnome.org
CRM
- John to follow up with Paul to define Marketing Team's CRM needs (SugarCRM vs CivicCRM)
- Sri or Alexandro to handle deployment after solution is picked
Sysadmin Team Task Tracking
- Team discussed the best tool for tracking future action items and picked Bugzilla for tracking Sysadmin team tasks
- Team will monitor effectiveness and re-visit in the future if tasks added in Bugzilla grow or not followed-up on
- Owen to file a number of to-do items in Bugzilla
