1.1. Description
A small event for core Fractal contributors and interested community members.
1.2. Venue
Seville, Spain
The Seville University is hosting us. CITIUS, Celestino Mutis, is the building where we've a room for the full hackfest. It's in the Reina Mercedes Campus of the Seville University, near to the software engineering school. It's located at "Av. de la Reina Mercedes, 4, 41012 Sevilla". The easiest way to get there is by bus, you can take the line 03 or 34 to go from the centre of the city to the University.
This is a university zone, but it's in the city so there's a lot of places to eat and to take a beer in that area.
Seville has a public bicycle system, and you can take a 7 days pass for 14 €. So if you like to ride, Seville is a great place to use the bike because there's a lot of Kilometers of cycle-line.
1.3. Agenda
We'll be planning our roadmap for the year, and working on a few core initiatives:
- finalizing the backend refactor needed for E2E and app split
- GNOME Newcomer experience
- adaptive layout
- Improve initial sync
- Outreachy intern, bring video preview and explore the video conference support
1.3.1. Tuesday 11th
- Where are we with the refactor, and what do we still need?
- API refactor, new backend, frontend/backend separation
- E2E: How do we get there?
- Newcomers event: Spend some time with local students and give some easy tasks to try to involve new devs in Fractal
1.3.2. Wednesday 12th
- App split: What is needed from a technical PoV
- UX considerations wrt splitting (e.g. how are private groups split?)
- General UX discussions (search, room directory, etc.)
- E2E UX planning
1.3.3. Thursday 13th
- GNOME Newcomer experience (recommended rooms, Matrix communities, etc.)
- GNOME Matrix server
- Plan for making Matrix an official GNOME channel
1.3.4. Friday 14th
- Adaptive layout with libhandy
- Do we need any new widgets/patterns?
1.4. Attendees
While we primarily want to get the core team together to get work done, newcomers and community members are also welcome to join. If there's interest we could organize a small newcomer workshop (If you're interested in this, please reach out in the Fractal Matrix room).

1.5. Accommodation
When looking for accommodation, we recommend using booking or Airbnb and looking at the location of available places on the map. The city center of Seville is a great place to stay and it's well connected by bus with the University.
