Freeform sessions

There are several hours dedicated to planning sessions on Monday afternoon (from 14:00 to 18:00). Please include your plans for that time here as well, so that those interested can start discussing agendas and stuff.

Room assignments are provisional, and purely to help define space requirements with Haus de Wirtschaft.

  • /Docs: Karlsruhe, 14:00 - 15:00, Planning session including KDE, GNOME and GIMP developers to get One True Documentation standard to allow easy internationalisation, maintenance and generation of different formats.

  • /Gimp: Heilbronn, 15:00 - 16:00, Discussion session for GIMP developers and contributers.

  • /TrainWreck: Berth Banz Saal, 15:00 - 16:00, How to avoid the GNOME train wreck. The future has been much talked about, but invariably ending up in deadlock over directions and decisions that need to be made. This session aims to identify all the times that the project has been de-railed, and what might be necessary to get things back on track and increasing momentum.

  • /SourceCodeManagement: Heilbronn, 14:00 - 15:00, KDE recently moved to Subversion. We have been talking about moving away from CVS for a while. Can we, and what might be the timeline?

  • /StableInterfaces: Karlsruhe, 15:00 - 16:00, Stable Interfaces are an important factor for growth in GNOME. What priorities do we need to manage, and how can we get more ISVs certifying their applications for our desktop?

  • Interoperability: Bertha Benz Saal, 15:00 - 16:00 (sharing), Bdale Garbee will lead a panel session on interoerability across the desktop, and across the operating system space.
  • /Marketing: Reutlingen, 15:00 - 16:00, Getting the marketing effort moving forward - let's get a buzz going around GNOME.

  • /GTK: Reutlingen, 15:00 - 16:00, Discussion session for GTK+ developers and contributers.

  • Firefox integration - Karl Koenig, 15:00 - 16:00, Firefox integration with GNOME/KDE/Freedesktop.org/Embeddors
