About You
The GUADEC 2017 registration form asked 4 questions at the bottom of the form which were worded as follows:
About you This section is optional and is used to help organise GUADEC in future years. All information provided is anonymized and will not be associated with you.
- Country of residence
- Age
- Gender identity
- How did you hear about GUADEC?
The first field was a dropdown list of countries (with "Unspecified" as the 1st option"), the other fields were all freeform text fields that were initially blank.
Below is a full summary of the responses we got. No cleaning of the data has been done, it's simply the output of database queries of the following form:
select value, count(value) from Registrations, RegistrationInfos where field='country' and RegistrationInfos.RegistrationId = Registrations.Id and badge_printed group by value ;

Registration donations
GUADEC 2017 had a "pay what you want" donation option on the registration form. The suggested donation values were:
- £15 or €15 for "students"
- £40 or €40 for "hobbyists"
- £150 or €150 for "professionals"
The slider had a range from 0 to 250.
The following tables show the values that people chose. We allowed "on site payment" as an option for the registration donation so this doesn't necessarily indicate how much each person actually paid.
