GIMP Freeform Session
This freeform session will be about the development of the GIMP. There are no formal presentations planned (yet), only discussions between GIMP developers and interested users (some familiarity with GIMP CVS and with the discussions on the gimp-developer mailing list is highly recommended).
Suggested topics
- How should we react to (potential) GPL violations concerning GIMP?
- Do we need a defined quality control procedure for third party installers (cf. the libexif debacle)?
- GIMP Merchandising - what do we need, what do we want?
- GEGL - How to proceed with GEGL integration, support for 16 bit channels and more? Who can contribute? Do we have a realistic time plan?
- Let's try to come up with a rough roadmap for GIMP development.
GIMP Docs - how are they getting along, how will the 2.2->2.4 transition take place (hopefully not like the 2.0->2.2)?
- What the hell does it take? How much do you have to do and give?
- ...
- GIMP!
Schedule
GUADEC schedule: http://2005.guadec.org/schedule/
Original suggestion: Monday, 16:00-17:00 or 17:00-18:00, so that some GIMP folks could join the sessions about project Topaz or Desktop Interoperability.
DaveNeary: I will need to be at the GNOME Foundation AGM at 16:00, but I think that the GIMP session could be on opposite Topaz, or as a session during 15:00-16:00.
RaphaelQuinet: As the time for the session on Desktop Interoperability is not mentioned anymore, I think that we can use that slot if we want to avoid conflicts with project Topaz and with the GNOME Foundation meeting. So 15:00-16:00 would be the best time slot.
MichaelSchumacher: Currently, there are no conflicting sessions from 15:00-16:00 and 17:00-18:00.
RaphaelQuinet: It looks like we have been assigned a time slot from 15:00-16:00, as can be seen in the parent page.
