Birds of a Feather

During the conference there are several rooms and spaces reserved for BOFs - impromptu discussions among "birds of a feather", people who want to discuss points raised during a conference, or perhaps get some plan ning work done away from the crowd.

Voice, video and Instant Messaging

Monday 10:30-11:30 - In the Hacking Room

This BOF will focus on the current state of instant messaging in the GNOME world; the integration of voice and video over IP capabilities into Gaim with the Farsight project; the convergence of VOIP and instant messaging; and how all this could work with desktop-wide event frameworks like Galago.

This BOF will focus on the current state of the popular desktop applets system, and what is planned for the future. We will discuss about advantages of the platform and its shortcomings and take a look at what can be improved on our way making gDesklets the premier desktop applets system, not only for GNOME.

Beagle: Technical Details

Monday 15:00-16:00

This BOF will talk about Beagle's architecture, how client apps can query the Beagle daemon, using Beagle to add search to your apps, and all of the other stuff that is too technical and/or detailed to get into during the "official" Beagle talk.
