Foundation/OpenSourceGuidelines

All code, designs or other IP produced under contract for the GNOME Foundation can be published immediately with no further approval process provided the guidelines are followed.
Follow the existing open source license for the project you are contributing to, or if creating a new module please select an OSI-approved license according to how similar modules are licensed in that community.
GNOME prefers copyleft licenses, typically GNOME libraries will have a license from the LGPL family and other components are licensed as GPL.
When creating new files or making significant contributions/modifications, please introduce a copyright header identifying the work as belonging to the GNOME Foundation: Copyright © 2024 GNOME Foundation Inc.
You may optionally also credit your work individually with some additional notice such as “Original Author: Foo Bar Hacker” (for new files) or "Contributor: Foo Bar Hacker" (for existing files)
We prefer that you use your @gnome.org e-mail address when working under this project, when possible/convenient, but this is not required.
