[NOT Boston but] Montréal Summit 2013
The 13th annual 'Boston' Summit will be held on the (Canadian) Thanksgiving long weekend of October 12 to 14 in Montréal, Canada.
The Summit is a three-day hackfest for GNOME developers and contributors. It is not primarily aimed at users or new contributors, but if you want to jump right into the deep end, it's a fantastic way to meet everyone and get involved. Unlike traditional conferences, the Boston Summit is all about getting developers together and getting things done. While there are some non-hacking sessions, they are geared heavily towards many-to-many, interactive discussion and planning, rather than one-to-many presentations.
Tell us you're coming - add your name to the list to let us know that you're planning to participate
If you'd like to apply for travel sponsorship, fill out the table specifying your needs by September 26
Venue
The venue for the summit is CRIM (Computer Research Institute of Montreal), located at 405 Ogilvy Avenue, suite 101, Montréal, QC H3N 1M3. The venue is directly across the street from the 'Parc' metro station. There is free parking. We will be in rooms 9 and 10.
For local transportation, STM is the public transit. See the Mini Guide
Montréal Trudeau Airport (YUL) is the natural choice for those arriving by plane. Montréal is also about a 5 hour drive from the Boston area. As of 2009, a passport is required for those entering Canada by car.
Montréal is also located in "the corridor", with good train service from Via Rail, with frequent service and fairly low prices (as low as $39 per direction from Toronto, less from Ottawa or Quebec City).
Tentative Schedule
You are expected at the venue from 10am every day. The space should be available until around 6pm.

Suggested Nearby Hotels, etc.
We plan to stay in the same hotels as last time, which are across the street from each other:
We have a block of rooms at the Hotel Le Cantlie Suites subject to availability. The rate is $135.00 per room per night for single or double occupancy. You can either call the hotel directly at +1.514.842.2000 stating the group name “GNOME” or reserve through this link in order to take advantage of the group rate.
Sofitel Montreal - slightly fancier
The hotels are a very short walk (~2-3 minutes) from Peel metro station, on the green line. The venue is across the street from Parc station on the blue line. Taking the train between those two stations will involve two transfers. Alternatively, it's possible to take the orange line directly between Bonaventure (~10-15 minute walk from hotel) to Jean Talon (~15-20 minute walk from the venue).
