FOSDEM Booth

  • Thats already set up. Soon we will add the final agenda for timeslots on who will man the booth.
  • Caroline will make edits to booth website - Claudio is sending the correct file link
  • Kristi is building chat time schedule and is looking for people to do an online/live stream demo\

Working groups and teams

  • 1 new person joined the Social media team, one more person might join.
  • Conference and events: 1 confirmed new contributor and 1 more interested - working to get onboard for GUADEC organising
  • Onboarding - no new updates to Sri's project. Melissa is working on additional newcomer initiatives (including more chat channels focused on helping newcomers and mentors for those channels)
  • Fundraising team (pending update from Molly)

Faces of GNOME

  • Potential GSoC student project
  • many steps left still but could be finished this year
  • Caroline needs to review design
  • Content needs to be reviewed and rewritten for some sections

  • Changes should be requested as GitLab issues

  • New name ideas so the acronym doesn't conflict with Friends of GNOME: "People of GNOME"
  • Website could be people.gnome.org but that url currently redirects to a wiki about membership - need to review wiki and update
  • Engagement Team can help with reviewing the website and submitting issues for changes (review images, find new ones, review content, rewrite, review layout/arrangement)
  • Need to establish how people will request to be removed from the page and how people will be added (this may be a form, a merge request, or an issue)

  • Rosanna suggests Claudio talk to the membership committee since there is overlap in some of this information and they could work together to streamline both projects

Action items

  • Rename page to "People of GNOME"

  • Research a way to add/remove profiles
  • Check design, layout, and content of the page

  • @Claudio to talk with membership committee about streamline processes

  • Create terms of use and guidelines for page use (who can request a profile, what can be added and what cannot)
  • Share initiative on discourse for look for additional contributors

  • @Kristi is working on sorting through the chat platform issue and talking with Neil and the Board
