3.4 release planning

  • Discussion about publish an article on gnome.org with information about the 3.4 release before the actual release day
  • Discussion about whether to publish the press release on gnome.org homepage or provide a link to the press release in a news story amid at users

ACTION: Emily to expand Allan's article that highlight the 3.4 RC and include a countdown to the official release and publish that article the same day as the RC is released.

ACTION: Sri to check with the sysadmin team so that they are ready for release day.

Marketing calendar

  • Requirements: online, ability to plug it in to applications like gmail & evolution and share updates

  • Discussion about using a solution bkuhn have hacked together, bkuhn will email files to Sri
  • Setting up a marketing calender will involve the sysadmin team to some extent

ACTION: Sri to investigate if it is possible to use Zimbra as a solution.

ACTION: Czeller will look around and see if she can find an appropriate Wordpress calander plug-in.

News site development

  • Close to being usable but still has a couple of issues including css and formatting

Annual Report

  • Outstanding items include financial section and revamp of the design

  • Discussion about the of the design, some thinks the current proposal is a bit wild and would prefer to use the visual style of the website, except for the front page

  • Deadline for contribution to the annual report set to April 23, possible release date April 30

ACTION: Emily will send out reminders about the new deadline to all parties involved in the annual report.

ACTION: Andreas will talk to Daniel about the design and maybe work to make it look more like the website.

Future marketing hackfest

  • We will probably have to wait until GUADEC in July

Websites

  • Czeller will focus on the new friends of gnome website ($ is important!!), will fix news site bugs later
