Thursday Event
- No special event or badge for Thurs event
- Ask people participating in newcomers lunch to keep a lookout for new faces and people who look like they need a new friend
Houses at GUADEC (Harry Potter)
- Allan had an idea about Harry Potter houses / teams: everybody at GUADEC would be sorted into a house. Throughout the conference speakers can award the audience points for answering or asking good questions
- Have two teams
- Choose House leaders that newcomers (and everyone else) can approach with questions throughout the conference
- Name them after GNOME technologies or something GNOME related
Detailed information about how to find the group
- Detailed information for public transportation (like what ticket to purchase), pictures of the venues, how to get to the rail station from the airport, which rail line gets you from the airport to the conference, etc (also make sure this info is there for the social events)
Lunch for oldcomers
- Consider in the future having one planned lunch for oldcomers where they get assigned to sit with people. This can help even oldcomers get to know new people.
Kids vs Adults Trivia
- This gams levels the playing field by asking questions that most adults would know specifically to adults (e.g. Who is Chuck Norris), and questions kids should know to the kids (e.g. Who is Justn Beiber)

Ask people if they want to have a topical dinner, then we can help promote those as well
Tweet about social events happening so that people
Social Events publicity should include the Women's Dinner and any other topical dinners
Have a deadline (July 7th) for sending us info about their topical dinner so we can promote it
Suggest Sunday as a possible day to do topical dinners
