Notes
Upcoming Release
- We should do some more internal promotion. Get people to meet their deadlines. Start collecting information about what the highlights are and gather some screenshots.
- Make a call for screen recordings, collaboration especially for the release video to record new features. In the past, Bastian has made a tar and read me to help people do the screen recording. Maybe can be a blog post for the beta and add the instructions on new features there.
- Maybe we can also make animated gifs.
- tweets about things on the major release notes, schedule these to come out before. Ask people to add it to a page before so we can tweet about it.
Make sure there is a Release Party page so people can plan their parties (https://wiki.gnome.org/Events/ReleaseParties/ThreePointTwentyeight)
- The wiki page for the 3.28 release should be created in Feb
ACTION: Check with Allan to see when he'll be creating the page
Follow up on ubuntu migration banner
- There were 3K click throughs on the banner and 71K people who saw the home page
ACTION: @Michael to ask the Ubuntu desktop team about putting the docs in their help center
Budget
- Reminder that we have a $3K budget for small events and general marketing $6K budget for 2018 $500 - for parties. Lot of trouble with reimbursements.
- How do you support people who do not have funds to pay for things. conversations on what we can think of, and proposing to the board.
LiberaPay could be an option
- Purchase a new conference kit for N. America (or send one from Europe over)
