Notes
SCALE 16x
- Almost all the merchendise that we brought with us was sold. There was demand. People also asked about
- Should we maintain Zazzle? The quality does't seem great for some of the purchases that Engagement team members have made (the logo was't totally white, it had some of the background in it)
- For international shipments, it gets REALLY expensive. Siska says that also in Indonesia, there is
- @Allan: Maybe our partners could offer promo codes for conferences.
- Shipping costs to Indonesia from Hello Tux are $8 USD. They have a long list of places that they ship to. Promotional offer is $8 shipping but normal price is $24.
- Link: Unixstickers shirts were better quality than the Zazzle
- Might be good to have a US store. Tee Spring? They are more into batches.
In Indonesia, there is a place that prints on demand: https://tees.co.id/ They make really cool tshrts on demand, they have free shipping for more than $250 rupiah (~$20 dollars)
- We do need to refresh the designs on the store.
- They might not give free samples. They want you to buy one to test it out.
ACTION: Check the terms of service for the Zazzle website and make sure that it works with out trademark
ACTION: @Nuritzi and Link to select some merch and designs
- More variety of SWAG
Credit card readers: ACTION: Neil to talk to Nuritzi about this.
Can we sell things in the US? ACTION: Neil, Rosanna, and Nuritzi to talk more about this and how selling things in person and online work.
Upcoming Conferences
- Libre Office Conference in Indonesia on March 23rd
- Cost? We could combine it with the Endless booth that is already going to be there. $50 for the booth. There are other GNOME Foundation members who will attend so people can probably help. Siska has to check with Mr. Haris about this, but we only have 10 days to plan. Expected attendees is about 600.
- Rosanna: sometimes conferences have a non-profit price. Can we check on that?
- Siska has GNOME shoes and would need to order a tablecloth, an x-banner, t-shirts, stickers, etc.
Release Marketing
https://wiki.gnome.org/Engagement/ReleasePlanning
- Organize and promote release parties - Nuritzi
- Release notes - Done by Allan
- Announcement news post on gnome.org - Draft by @Allan
- Update the screenshots on gnome.org - Done by @Allan
- Social media posts, in the run up to the release, to announce it, and immediately after the release - Nuritzi to schedule social media posts. Make sure to add some about Friends of GNOME, both thanking donors and asking people to donate
Update the getting GNOME page, to make sure that the details about which version of GNOME is in which distro are correct (https://www.gnome.org/getting-gnome/) - Neil to help update this page
- Send a mail to Friends of GNOME donors to thank them for their support - Let's not do that yet. Last time we had complaints. We need to update the friends of GNOME donors list first.
ACTION: talk to Bastian about adding a description to the video "donate to Friends of GNOME"
ACTION: Allan to coordinate the timing of the posts, and Neil to push buttons on social media to get those out
