Social Media Team

Notes on roles and responsibilities for managing GNOME's social media channels.

Members from Core Engagement Team

Chancellor of Social Magic

Oversees that all social media outlets are actively being used. Should check into each social media outlet about once a month to make sure that fresh content is being added. If one of the Head Mages can’t continue their tenure, then the Chancellor should help ensure that a replacement is found. Can advise on general social media strategy to ensure that social media is serving the larger goals of the GNOME community. Can help to plan meetings and create publishing schedules. **Should regularly attend engagement team meetings

Ministry of Social Magic

Help make sure that publishing schedules are being upheld and generally help plan and support the initiatives of the Chancellor of Social Magic. May step in for the Chancellor.

Specific for each Social Media channel

Head Mage

Will help establish goals for the social media channel and will work with the Chancellor to create a publishing schedule. Will make sure content is created for their social media channel, or will create it him or herself. Is the gatekeeper of their social media channel and makes sure that the channel remains active and engaging. Thinks about how we can measure and optimize success of the channel.

Magelets

Help the Head Mage stick to the publishing schedule and help make sure that there is a steady stream of content for the channel. Might also have access/login info for the channel and may take over the Head Mage role if needed.

Responders

Help monitor activity on the channels and make sure that GNOME is seen as being responsive. Will flag any issues they see to the Head Mage.
