Goals for the GNOME 2.18 Release
This is a list in progress of the major things that need to be done in documentation before the 2.18 release. As always, there are plenty of bugs too -- the Bugzilla User Info for gnome-user-docs-maint@gnome.bugs should list most of them. A list of the documents we maintain (incomplete) is at DocumentationProject/Documents.
New modules
The following modules are proposed for gnome (see TwoPointSeventeen/Desktop)
- Seahorse -- Has a user manual, being updated.
- Tracker (cvs module : tracker)
gnome-games
- New games have been added: glChess and Gnome Sudoku. glChess in particular needs to have new documentation written for it.
- Network multiplayer has been added to Iagno, Gnect and Gnibbles. glChess also has network on its todo list.
Deskbar
The DeskbarApplet needs a manual writing from scratch. (Pending a basic manual template being installed; see bug 375143)
General freshness scan
The following manuals should be given a quick check to see they're up to date:
- EOG. And note the following changes since 2.16 release:
- Remove the "Rotate 180° action".
- now using only gnome-icon-theme included icons, so the "rotate-left"
- and "rotate-right" icons are now on orange instead of blue.
- Make check pattern for transparent images a bit lighter.
Add support for GtkPrint. Remove old libgnomeprint{ui} dependence.
- (this changes the printing UI, of course).
- Add stock icon to undo action.
- mouse sidebuttons (6 and 7) for image navigation.
