- === Statement on what could happen if you violate the code of conduct ===
- Allan introduces the topic and asks everyone to review the topic in the spreadsheet
- What role should the statement have?
- Zana, Nuritzi : good to have an upper bound, e.g. kicked out of the event, the foundation?
- Allan agrees. is it good to have a long section or a short statement?
- Agreement that a short statement is fine.
- Allan: what should the upper bound be?
- Nuritzi: If a participant engages in harassing behaviour, event organisers retain the right to take any actions to keep the event a welcoming environment for all participants.
- Zana: do we reimburse travel if we kick them out of a conference?
- Potential area to talk about: can someone who violates the CoC get kicked out of the foundation as a result?
- Allan: it might be frightening to people if we say that we might revoke sponsorship
- Zana: maybe we should revoke future sponsorship.
- Allan: we can come back to this.
- Allan: Likes the Geek Feminism example
Nuritzi: Likes that FreeGeek says that action will happen if two staff members agree. Maybe good to keep it more general, though.
- Zana: We should limit how much we say so people will read it.
- Allan: Leaves options open without getting too much into details.
- Agreement that we want a short statement based on the Geek Feminism example.
- Allan agrees. is it good to have a long section or a short statement?
- Zana, Nuritzi : good to have an upper bound, e.g. kicked out of the event, the foundation?
Allan: Should we split the reporting guidelines into a short statement in the CoC and a longer page with detailed guidelines like the PyCon CoC
- Agreement that this is a good idea
- Nuritzi: Should we list the contact people in the CoC?
- Zana: Should we include emergency instructions like "Call 911"?
- Agreement that we should have just emergency contact info on first page and other info on reporting in the linked detailed guidelines
- Everyone worked on filling in the short reporting instructions and reporting guidelines sections in the spreadsheet for the remainder of the meeting
