Meeting on November 21st
Attendees:
- Benjamin Berg
- Meg Ford
- Allan Day
- Nuritzi Sanchez
- Rosanna Yuen
Agenda:
Review codes of conduct - https://wiki.gnome.org/Diversity/CoCWorkingGroup/Resources/CoCs/Review
- Come up with the positive behaviors we want to encourage and what we want to prohibit
Start a draft for our event CoC https://etherpad.gnome.org/p/Draft_GNOME_CoC_for_Events
- Topic of discussion: what happens if we have a speaker that has made racist comments?
Notes:
Is it better to move forward by continuing to research CoCs and documenting them on the wiki or should we base our CoC on e.g. the PyCon CoC?
Ben thinks that https://wiki.gnome.org/Diversity/CoCWorkingGroup/Resources/CoCs/Review is incomplete
- Does not contain enough from the GUADEC 2016 CoC
- GUADEC 2016 is included under the cultural sensitivity section
- How do we want to move forward?
Allan would be happy to move forward by using the PyCon UK CoC or continuing to review each resource
- Ben would like to have a session chair in order to make sure that agenda items are covered, and add all resources to the wiki page, not just the resources we want to use.
- Nuritzi would like to continue to review each resource
Meg would prefer to use the PyCon CoC as a starting point and modify it
Action items:
- Meg to add headers from wiki page to spreadsheet and re-share the link
- Everyone to fill in new sections that were added to spreadsheet
