It would be wonderful to have a nice new design for a Chat and messaging application built for GNOME 3.

Objectives

Goals

• Display an accurate historical record of conversations
• Provide access for resuming past/ongoing conversations
• Search conversations
• Initiate new conversations with available contacts
• Chat using text, audio, or video modes.
• Support switching dynamically between chat modes
• Allow conversations to be tracked per-person and not per communication network / protocol
• Support multi-person group chat
• Design for foreground / attentive use
