I'm creating a screensaver theme for gnome-screensaver. I have downloaded flags & descriptions from CIA factbook database as they are in public domain: https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/docs/flagsoftheworld.html . All I need to do now is put 3 pieces of information together into a nice image. That is:

  • name of the country
  • flag
  • description

See the full-flag-example.gif for the best I was able to come up with. You can contact me via email: nexor1984 (at) gmail.com.

Hi,

This is Yu Liansu trying to respond this art request under request of the Outreach For Woman intern-ship program.

I have drafted two of flag for gnome-screensaver below, using China and US national flags:

looking for comments:)

Wow, this is really cool! Unfortunately all the graphics I have is from this site: https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/docs/flagsoftheworld.html . I just have 3 pieces: name of the country, flag and description. I need to compose an image based on just those elements - and I need to do that in the automated way. So, Yu Liansu image looks brilliant but I need something simpler than this I'm afraid. Please contact me at nexor1984 (at) gmail.com if you can help.
