16:08:57 <clown> #startmeeting
16:08:57 <tota11y> Meeting started Thu Apr 12 16:08:57 2012 CET. The chair is clown. Information about MeetBot at http://wiki.debian.org/MeetBot.
16:08:57 <tota11y> Useful Commands: #action #agreed #help #info #idea #link #topic.
16:09:17 <clown> #info the agenda: http://live.gnome.org/Accessibility/Meetings#Agenda_for_the_Next_Meeting_.2812_April.29
16:09:32 <clown> #topic GSoC/Outreach Program for Women
16:10:14 <clown> #info Last week, Joseph had two people interested in his mentoring them, but they were not familiar with his project.
16:10:35 <clown> #info Joseph replied to them politely, suggesting they look at other projects that might be a better fit.
16:11:12 <clown> #info Since then, another person, Ahu, contacted Joseph specifically about his project, wanting to contribute
16:11:49 <clown> #info Joseph has responded to her, giving her suggestions on how to start (what to read, what to install, etc.).
16:11:52 <clown> (done).
16:12:01 <clown> Does anyone else have anything to report?
16:12:11 <jjmarin> Does she get any progress so far ?
16:12:55 <clown> not sure what you are asking. I suspect I'm not familiar enough with the program "rules" to answer that.
16:13:15 <clown> but, practically speaking, she has just started.
16:13:49 <jjmarin> it is supposed that in the OPW the candidate make a small contribution in order to get accepted
16:14:25 <clown> I see. Hmm...
16:15:29 <jjmarin> Is what I think the cat robot means here https://live.gnome.org/GnomeWomen/OutreachProgram2012/
16:15:31 <clown> then, I'll have to come up with something so she can contribute.
16:15:44 * clown looks
16:16:22 <jjmarin> "Make a Small Contribution" is the explanation
16:16:58 <jjmarin> but I don't know about the GSoC process
16:18:04 <jjmarin> Anyway, I think we can do a flexible interpretation of the rules if she's a good candidate
16:19:08 <clown> jjmarin, thanks for the pointer. there are no "bugs" that apply. she would have to demonstrate she understands the goals and issues. I'm thinking if she shows that she can manually run a test, and explain why one would want to automate that, I'd say that's sufficient.
16:19:33 <jjmarin> ok, perfect !
16:20:11 <clown> the code patches would be changes to Accerciser. maybe I can find a simple bug in accerciser that she could fix.
16:21:05 <clown> #action Joseph will come up with a task or bug fix for Accerciser as the "Make a Small Contribution" facet of the OPW for Ahu to work on.
16:21:25 <jjmarin> Anyway, I guess you can manage better the situation commenting thing to Marina
16:21:26 <clown> jjmarin: thanks for point that out.
16:21:49 <jjmarin> np :-)
16:22:00 <clown> not sure what you mean about "commenting thing to Marina" — you mean dialog with Marina?
16:22:11 <clown> or discuss with Marina?
16:22:35 <clown> Okay.
16:22:55 <jjmarin> the meaning of "what a small contribution" can mean in this particular case
16:23:10 <clown> #action Joseph will touch base with Marina about the small contribution aspect of the OPW
16:23:33 <clown> okay, I think I'm done now.
16:23:47 <clown> anyone else have something about this or other OPW projects?
16:24:08 * jjmarin doesn't
16:24:16 <clown> mgorse?
16:24:22 <mgorse> no
16:24:31 <clown> okay, moving along...
16:24:42 <clown> #topic Marketing and Fundraising
16:24:52 <clown> yields the floor to jjmarin
16:24:58 <jjmarin> ok
16:25:24 <jjmarin> well, this week I don't have data about the FoG a11y campaing
16:26:06 <jjmarin> #info Karenesq will post about the status of the a11y FoG campaign and she'll mention Diego's case
16:26:06 * clown wonders if it's worth wrapping that in an 'info'
16:26:12 * clown never mind
16:26:26 <jjmarin> I have to say sth :-)
16:26:26 <clown> Diego's case?

16:27:54 <jjmarin> yes !
16:28:14 <jjmarin> and nothing more to say I'm afraid :-)
16:28:33 <clown> sounds like he needs motor adaptive tech.
16:28:49 <jjmarin> maybe we can change s/case/testimonial/
16:29:04 <clown> well, jjmarin, that was more than "less than nothing". :-)
