15:23:46 <joanie> :)
15:24:20 <clown> #info I uploaded two patches last Mon
15:24:41 <clown> info two because of debate whether to use checkboxes vs. radio buttons for mouse tracking preferences
15:24:51 <clown> #info two because of debate whether to use checkboxes vs. radio buttons for mouse tracking preferences
15:25:27 <clown> #info looks like radio button version is "winning" (which is the correct ui in my view).
15:25:52 <clown> #info major remaining issue is spacing, which requires someone better at glade than I.
15:26:05 <clown> #info some minor changes as well; easily done.
15:26:16 <clown> #info screen shots:
15:26:45 <clown> #info hbons' wireframe proposal which I based the code/glade on: https://github.com/gnome-design-team/gnome-mockups/blob/master/system-settings/zoom/zoom.png
15:27:02 <clown> #info checkboxes version: http://clown.idrc.ocad.ca/aegis/GS-Mag/ZoomOptionsChecksV2.png
15:27:18 <clown> #info radio button version: http://clown.idrc.ocad.ca/aegis/GS-Mag/ZoomOptionsRadiosV2.png
15:27:25 <clown> questions?
15:27:53 <joanie> only how do you do it and maintain your sanity
15:28:08 <clown> good question.
15:28:12 <joanie> :)
15:28:32 <joanie> well +100000 for your willingness to keep on keeping on
15:29:03 <joanie> other questions or snarky comments?
15:29:05 <joanie> ;)
15:29:31 <clown> well, in that vain: bastien asked for tic marks on the crosshairs length slider back in the summer, but now classen wants them removed. a case of too many cooks?
15:29:42 <joanie> heh
15:30:15 <joanie> well, if no other questions or comments.....
15:30:26 <joanie> #topic Miscellaneous Time
15:30:36 * joanie hands floor over to anyone who has something to add
15:31:12 <clown> in case anyone is interested, I've managed to get Fedora16 running smoothily with gnome-shell using virtual box on my Mac laptop
15:31:34 <clown> bnitz is probably the most interested in this sort of thing,
15:31:48 <joanie> oh that's true, I did something similar with Ubuntu and Mint the other day
15:32:06 <joanie> I am so going to wipe my systems and do development work in virtual boxes
15:32:22 <bnitz> clown yes sorry I'm very late
15:32:47 <joanie> #info Joseph and Joanie have been able to get gnome-shell working in virtualbox. And there was much rejoicing.
15:33:33 <bnitz> clown at the moment my a11y test rig is still built on javier's a11y testing distro but if we decide on another it could be ported.
15:33:59 <clown> bnitz, that was OpenSuse, if I recal.
15:34:02 <bnitz> yes
15:34:02 <clown> "recall"
15:34:23 <clown> I haven't tried that, but I should work.
15:34:28 * clown looks up url.
15:34:30 <bnitz> clown did you need to emulate 3d acceleration or does gnome-shell now run smoothly without it?
15:35:00 <clown> #info how to add accelerated 3d support to VirtualBox: http://www.sysprobs.com/install-fedora-16-virtualbox-guest-additions-get-working-gnome-shell-inside-virtual-machine
15:35:52 <bnitz> clown thanks. The next step is to completely remove the requirement for accelerated 3D. For some reason I thought it was no longer a hard dependency on clutter/gnome-shell.
15:35:57 <clown> bnitz, I had to follow the above directions, involving using something called "Guest Additions" to allow access to the 3d support on one's video card.
15:36:16 <joanie> I didn't follow those instructions, but I did the same thing.
15:36:42 <joanie> #info Installing Guest Additions is required to get the 3d support working (which is required to get gnome-shell working in vbox).
15:36:55 <bnitz> Yes I did something like this in the past but decided to fallback on fallback mode for now.
15:37:28 <bnitz> But I think when the hard dependency on 3d graphics goes away, fallback mode will also be deprecated.
15:37:39 <clown> yes, I tried this before last spring, and got very jerky mouse movements, etc.
15:37:58 <clown> I think part of the improvement is due to the newer versions of Virtual Box.
15:38:07 * joanie nods
15:38:40 <jjmarin> clown: I'm in conversation with an instructor who is using gnome-shell zoom with a user with Ataxia and they think is great :-)
15:38:53 <clown> #info version 4.16 of VirtualBox is a version that works.
15:39:12 <clown> jjmarin, thanks for that!
15:39:37 <clown> jjmarin: will they be part of the a11y testamonials for the marketing?
15:40:20 <jjmarin> clown: I want to, but there is some bureacratic problems I need to fix
15:40:47 <clown> jjmarin: good luck with that.
15:40:54 <clown> ;-)
15:40:56 <jjmarin> :-)
15:42:48 <joanie> okay, anything else?
15:44:12 <jjmarin> no
15:44:14 <joanie> #endmeeting
