Topics Discussed
Atk Hackfest
Discussion
- Joanie presented the latest details:
Page in progress: http://live.gnome.org/Hackfests/ATK2011
- Location: Igalia
- Tentative Dates: 9-15 May
- Piñeiro is looking for alternative/additional funding
- Brian pointed out that an agenda and goals should be added to the page. Joanie responded that this was most definitely the plan, the page having only just been created.
- Next steps:
- Email the must-have attendees about the proposed dates
Conclusions
- Joanie will email the must-have attendees about the proposed dates.
- Piñeiro and Joanie will fill in the hackfest page with an agenda and goals.
CSUN
Discussion
- Joanie reported that Eitan was going to email her with information/an update. But this had not occurred.
- Joanie personally knows:
- There is a booth, taken care of by Bryen and Eitan. She does not know if more people are needed to staff the booth.
- The GNOME a11y travel budget is generous, but still finite: a maximum of three people were funded under this budget item.
- To her knowledge, Bryen doesn't need funding. Eitan may.
- She will go to sit on a panel Chris Hofstader set up, but will fly out, present, and fly back.
- Anyone who wants to go to CSUN and needs GNOME funding should email Eitan, with Joanie and Piñeiro CC'ed.
Conclusions
- Anyone who wants to go to CSUN and needs GNOME funding should email Eitan, with Joanie and Piñeiro CC'ed.
FOSDEM
Discussion
Joanie reported that a mailing list with archives, including selected proposals, was available.
- Louis had indicated to Joanie that he'd be posting the details "somewhere." she requested he do so on our team wiki.
- Joanie asked if anyone going to FOSDEM required GNOME travel funding. Those present reported that they were not going or that travel was inexpensive for them.
- Ale reported that the schedule for the dev room is being finalized.
Conclusions
- If there is anyone going to FOSDEM who requires travel funding from GNOME, they should tell Piñeiro and Joanie ASAP.
Administrivia
Discussion
- Gail is in two places in bugzilla: Atk/Gail and Gtk+/Gail.
- Joanie asked if anyone objected to it being removed from Atk/Gail.
- No one objected. Fer pointed out that we should be sure to transfer bugs over. Joseph added we need to keep the history.
- Quarterly reports:
We're included in The Foundation's Q3 Report.
Mario has started the team page for collecting Q4's.
- The due date is not yet known. Joanie will try to find out.
- Joanie added that she would be drafting the Orca report soon.
Conclusions
- Joanie will ask Li to remove it, transfering existing bugs over to Gtk+/Gail.
- Joanie will find out when Q4 reports are due.
- Team members who have not submitted their Q4 reports should do so on the page Mario started.
Other
- "Michaelwigle" and "Codo" each announced that they are new to GNOME a11y and hoping to become more involved.
Fer asked about Gail TreeView testing. Joanie responded that Li would be taking a look at it.
Unity
Discussion
- Piñeiro announced that he has been working on Unity accessibility.
- Links:
More information can be found on Launchpad.
Piñeiro's branches can be found at: https://code.launchpad.net/~apinheiro/unity/
- Current state:
- Unity had migrated from mutter to compiz, and as a result were losing the a11y from Cally.
- He is working with others: Luke on the integration with the platform and reviewing user interaction; Rodrigo Moya will also be working on the Atk layer.
- Impact with respect to gnome-shell accessibility:
- Piñeiro stated he wasn't sure how this would affect gnome-shell, but his gnome-shell patches are still waiting for review/inclusion so he is not too concerned about any impact to gnome-shell.
- Joanie responded that if at any point he had support which needed to be included on the Orca-side, the team would get it included promptly.
Conclusions
Joanie will create a new page for parallel issues which are not actually GNOME 3.0 from that section on the GNOME 3 page.
Summary of Action Items
- Joanie will email the must-have attendees about the proposed dates of the Atk hackfest.
- Piñeiro and Joanie will fill in the Atk hackfest page with an agenda and goals.
- Anyone who wants to go to CSUN and needs GNOME funding should email Eitan, with Joanie and Piñeiro CC'ed.
- Anyone going to FOSDEM who requires travel funding from GNOME should tell Piñeiro and Joanie ASAP.
- Joanie will ask Li to remove the old, duplicate Atk/Gail, transfering existing bugs over to Gtk+/Gail.
- Joanie will find out when Q4 reports are due.
- Team members who have not submitted their Q4 reports should do so on the page Mario started.
Joanie will create a new page for parallel issues which are not actually GNOME 3.0 from that section on the GNOME 3 page.
